Job Description

Interchange Bench is hiring a Senior Workplace Consultant for a 6-month contract to be deployed with one of our esteemed clients based in Mulgrave.


The role
The role is deployed to our client who is an institution in higher education across Melbourne and with a global presence through its international affiliations.
The Senior Workplace Relations Consultant provides strategic expertise in industrial relations. This includes interpreting enterprise agreements, and policies, and handling complex cases. Effective stakeholder communication and collaboration with HR are crucial for organizational success.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage and consult on workplace relations portfolios, including complex cases and code of conduct breaches.
  • Build strong client relationships for effective workplace relations outcomes.
  • Offer high-level HR consultancy, guidance on policies, and stay updated on legal developments.
  • Research and implement workplace relations policies in line with university HR strategies.
  • Interpret and apply enterprise agreements and laws, preparing briefs for senior management.
  • Stay updated on workplace legislation and best practices.
  • Collaborate on strategic workplace relations projects and reforms.
  • Stay informed about Higher Education Sector issues to support strategic workplace relations policy.

 
You will have:

  • Senior-level expertise in industrial and employment relations.
  • Proficient in strategic advice, project management, and consulting.
  • Experience in developing and implementing industrial relations strategies for compliance.
  • Knowledge of Fair Work Legislation, including unfair dismissals and industrial disputes.
  • Proficiency in managing complex cases for successful outcomes.
  • Strong relationship management, influence, and negotiation skills.
  • Effective planning and organizational abilities in a complex organization.
  • Analytical skills for innovative problem-solving.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Advanced computer literacy, including business management software.
