Position objective

The Workforce Systems Manager is the focal point for managing implementation, governance, and support of HRIS applications at Symal. The position is responsible for effectively analysing, planning, organizing and supporting of production HRIS applications while managing risk, workload, scope, capacity, schedule, and budget. This is a hands-on role which will put you in charge of application support and analysis, while also assisting with providing solutions to application-related issues.

 

This position also works closely with project sponsors, business and technical partners, subject matter experts, end users, technical resources (internal and third-party vendors), senior management, and executives in the delivery and support of HRIS applications and ensures that the needs of business users are fully addressed, and continuous improvement is being achieved.

  • Manage the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of key HRIS enterprise applications.
  • Ensure the systems are highly available, reliable, and perform optimally to meet business requirements.
  • Take ownership of system upgrades, patches, and enhancements, working closely with vendors and internal teams to plan, execute, and validate changes.
  • Take ownership of existing and future integrations into the platform.
  • Identifying opportunities for application optimization, redesign, or process improvement
  • Ensure the continuous improvement of systems are managed to get the most out of our investments.

  • Lead the hands-on implementation of system upgrades, integrations, and new application deployments, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Manage 3rd party vendors to SLA
  • Develop detailed project plans, define milestones, allocate resources, and actively manage risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct hands-on user acceptance testing, system training, and change management activities to facilitate smooth transitions and user adoption.

Qualifications, skills / knowledge

  • Proven hands-on experience (5+ years) in managing and supporting HRIS business applications, across Recruitment, Onboarding, Learning, HCM, Workforce Management (Rostering, Timesheets, Leave Management, Award Interpretation), Payroll
  • Strong technical background with hands-on knowledge of HRIS systems around System Maintenance, Troubleshooting and Improvements for HRIS platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with implementations, enhancements, and integrations.
  • Solid project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks effectively, and work in a hands-on capacity.
  • In-depth understanding of compliance and security requirements related to HRIS applications.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate and negotiate with stakeholders at various levels within the organization.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities to address problems and drive efficiencies whilst focusing on continuous improvement.
  • Qualification in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field
