Job Description

The role:

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will be responsible for both strategic leadership and directing, controlling, and administering all of the financial activities of the organisation, including business planning, budgeting and forecasting. The role will also provide the Chief Executive and Board with financial information and analysis to enable decision making. You will work closely with numerous internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership, the Board, Auditors, Lawyers, Insurance Brokers, and Banks. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing strategic input and direction into the planning and operations of the organisation.
  • Providing high level financial analysis to evaluate potential M&A opportunities.
  • Overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, tax, payroll, financial and management accounting functions.
  • Managing the financial reporting for the organisation including monthly financial reporting, consolidated profit and loss statements, balance sheets, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Reporting & presenting major operational issues and performance results to the CEO & Board.
  • Completing year end accounts and overseeing the external audit process.
  • Managing the capital budgeting process.
  • Managing the cash flow and ensuring appropriate controls.
  • Controlling activities including insurance, governance, property services administration and company secretarial duties.
  • Overseeing the development and update of all financial policies and procedures.

The candidate:

The successful candidate will be CA/CPA qualified, with significant relevant experience and strong leadership skills, ideally from a For Purpose or Member Services environment. You will possess a strong understanding of corporate governance, risk management and accounting principles, coupled with a keen commercial acumen. You are a self-starter with excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills, and the ability to effectively engage with non-finance stakeholders. You are happy to roll up your sleeves and be hands on, with an eye to continuous improvement and adding value to stakeholders.
